It was my pleasure to be a part of the Black Book Expo. I came all the way from Columbus, Ohio to participate in signing copies of my book as well as reading an excerpt from my title on the entertainment stage.
Although attendance was affected by the most long awaited Holiday parade and I wasn't able to recover my expenses in book sales, please allow me to give you (on a scale of 1 to 10) a 20 rating for how well organized this event was. As a self-published author I have attended several expos and functions including the Harlem Book Fair. This was the FIRST FULLY ORGANIZED AFFAIR I have yet to attend. The other three authors who signed under my tent as well as authors I had the pleasure of meeting that day ALL AGREED!
For example, I received my confirmation receipt for payment (which included my assigned booth number on it) in the mail before the $250 payment even cleared the credit card. When I arrived at the Expo the tent was set up with a sturdy long white table and matching chairs. Shortly thereafter the wonderful banner (which we will be able to use repeatedly) was mounted to the tent. Each booth space was provided with a large trash bag and was greeted periodically by representatives making sure that everything was going well.
I could go on and on in describing just how well organized this event was in comparison to any other. I will conclude in saying that I gladly accept the offers within your email and although I might not be able to personally participate in future events, I will do my best to be a part of your vision.
Very truly yours
